Youth programming on Africa entails an array of activities. We have offered dance classes, musical performances, poetry and play readings, films, and presentations, all of which seek to engage young people in the cultures and connections between their lives in the US and Africans' lives across the continent and beyond. African studies has worked in context with youth through various organizations, after-school programs, schools, the youth detention center, to name just a few.
If you would like to suggest some programming or want to engage the young people in a discussion about Africa, please contact the Center for African Studies Outreach Program at 217-244-3648.
