Krannert Museum Reopens African Exhibit
The new African gallery at Krannert Art Museum, "Encounters: The Arts of Africa," opened on October 11th.. Several hundred people attended the event, enjoying not only the art work but also a musical performance by the Francophone choir.
CAS, SAWBO Seek Mozambican Partners

Urbana Sister Cities Honored
The Urbana-Zomba (Malawi) Sister Cities project, in which the Center for African Studies was a major partner, won the prize for best Sister Cities initiative in Illinois. And there is more to come.

New African Dance Company on Campus
Founder Amira Davis chronicles the recent formation of Jalimuso SiSWA, a local dance group dedicated to African dance as a form of solidarity with people on the continent.
