The Center for African Studies offers grants and fellowships to both faculty and students. These awards are usually funded by national grants whose amounts and focus vary from year to year. Most grants and fellowships are annual competitions and all depend on fund availability.

For students we offer the FLAS fellowships, conference travel grants, and an annual undergraduate and graduate paper prize. The Committee on Institutional Cooperation also offers support for summer language instruction.

Faculty awards are mainly course development grants. Information will be posted on this web site if funding becomes available for travel or other projects.
